A Perfectly Sound Scenario With FELIVAND
A perfectly sound scenario, where we ask musicians their favourite albums and the perfect scenario or time to listen to it. This time we asked producer, singer and songwriter FELIVAND to mention five of her favourite albums and the perfect scenario to go along with them. The 21-year-old has also released a new single today ‘Midsummer Sun’, which feels like nothing less than a blissful, warm embrace. It captures beautifully how I’d imagine the edges of summer sound—it paints those drawn out pink sunsets, rolling waves of the clearest blue, stone fruits and lazy days. Cleverly though, it’s intertwined with a deeply personal layer of honesty and vulnerability, allowing us to resonate with not only the song, but with it’s lyrics and with the artist herself. She sings of the struggle of helping someone who, painfully, can’t manage to help themselves. We hear dynamic relationships and memories in her words, love and kindness sung strong in the rich femininity of her voice. It seems almost reminiscent of an early Amber Mark, or at times holds a similar thoughtfulness and brightness to Maggie Rogers. FELIVAND will be an invaluable contribution to this realm of progressive, diversifying pop, where we see more and more fusing of genres to bring originality back to the fore of quality music. I’m sure she’ll prove it to us with the release of her second EP, Nerve, due October 16.
Her music is a reflection of her taste, soft, technical and easy to sway to. FELIVAND’s take on A Perfectly Sound Scenario is something we haven’t seen before we strongly suggest giving these album’s a listen and thinking of the scenario’s that go with each.
