BONES AND JONES LOVE YOU
Five Piece Victorian based alt-country rock and rollers, Bones and Jones are back today to confess their third album entitled Love You. Released via Bonsai Records, the 11 track LP is full of beautifully layered guitar slides, masterful story-telling and the most appropriate placement of the harmonica throughout, proving how the band have created their own version of an ever evolving modern twist on alt-country rock sound.
The album fuses unlikely notions of synthesisers, harmonising vocals and country bounce that pulls together to create a listening experience that instantly feels like nostalgia, a theme that carries you through the talented storytelling and meticulously put together chords of the album.
Jasper from the band speaks on the making and DIY aspects of producing the album saying “Love you came about at the tail end of 2022, we set up at the farm over a few scattered sessions and tracked most of the record, producing and engineering it ourselves. We tracked everything live and over the following months finished it off in makeshift setups in front rooms and bedrooms across everyone's houses in Melbourne/Naarm.”. Love You sees inspiration drawn from greats like George Harrison with iconic slide guitars and the Americana angle displayed particularly in track 2 Castlemaine, as well as personal experiences from the landscape and world around them.
From their humble beginnings of forming the band during highschool in Victorian town of Geelong to now based out of an old apple orchard on the Victorian coast/Wathaurong Country and being well renowned for their memorable songwriting, nostalgic sound and energy filled gigs. Bones and Jones, have supported notable bands such as King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard, The Nude Party and The Murlocs to name a few as well as appearing at plenty of festivals. Bones and Jones have now come out to release their own headline tour and their biggest one to date. Taking the Love You on a road trip with a total of 17 shows across Australia, kicking off on the 7th of July at the Corner Hotel, for their largest Melbourne/Naarm show yet!
