ON OUR WAY TO MEADOW 10

In life, all things have a beginning and an end. Think about The Lion King, and the Circle of Life and all that good sh*t. And sand. And your ancestors.

But, this year, one of the country’s most beloved festivals, Meadow Festival has reached its 10th year and, in turn, is reaching its own end. Of course, there was no other way to do it than to go all out.

Since its first year in 2013, hosted in a mate’s meadow in Bambra (an hour and a half or so out of Naarm), Meadow Festival began as a pop-up celebration for one of the founder’s 21st birthday — and has since gained a mass of adoring attendees due to the sense of community it fosters. Music lovers come from far and wide to the intimate, 1800 capacity festival, which boasts a lineup that’s a cross section of Australia’s dynamic music landscape with some amazing international acts sprinkled in.

It’s this lineup we’re so excited for. That’s why, tomorrow at 7am, we’ll be making our way down Victoria’s Surf Coast.

When we heard we were going to a festival headlined by MJ Lenderman, our collective jaws hit the floor. As a lover of country-gaze, emo whinge and vivid song-writing, I was immediately swept up with the music of the Ashville, NC hailing Lenderman. We’re also excited to see our old friends Pond who featured in Issue 6 of Wanderer Mag. As well as these favourites, Meadow hosts great names like Floodlights, Hiyatus Kaiyote, Empress Of, Armlock, Eggy, ORB, Osmosis Jones and so many more… The lineup also features Annie-Rose Moloney, who played at the very first Meadow Festival - talk about going full circle!

As anyone with ears and an internet connection may know, it’s an unfortunate fact that Aussie festivals aren’t having the easiest of times right now. While Meadow Festival closing its gates is disheartening, it’s also creating a space for emerging passions to come through and for fresh faces to enter the scene.

We’re excited for a weekend of community, camaraderie and love, and for a sensory-indulgent celebration of music and all that comes with it. There are around 50 tickets remaining–so don’t miss out on something this huge.

You can buy tickets for the final Meadow Festival on their Website
