SURPRISE! GOOD MORNING ANNOUNCE RELEASE THEIR SECOND ALBUM OF 2024 ALONG WITH SINGLE SOFT ROCK BAND
Captured by Jarvis Taveniere
Good Morning grace us with a perfectly timed eight minute track Soft Rock Band released today as well as announcing their second full length album of 2024, The Accident is due to release on the 29th of November to round out a huge year for the duo, Liam Parsons and Stefan Blair. The new single Soft Rock Band brings a bitter sweet, coming of age movie kind of element to both its lyrics and sound with slide guitars, warm piano and a soft beat driven by snares and congas that keep you tapping away for the entire eight minutes. On the length of the single, I feel like it’s the biggest time warp. When pre-emptively listening to the new album in full (yes I get to do that), Soft Rock Band is the final chapter and the only way I can describe it is that it feels long short. When I looked properly at the track listing and saw that it went for eight minutes I couldn’t believe that was the amount of time that had passed and I’m confused because I don’t know how I didn’t realise. Is it the subtle additions of weird synths or trying to figure out what the lyrics might be about? Then the chimes! The guitar solo. There's so many parts I could talk about as I listen to it again and again and again. I’ve now clocked up 1 hour and 23 minutes. It’s fair to say I like this track a lot, go give it a listen.
