The Last Week of Rad Bar—A PHOTO BOOK BY Oliver Risi

We have had the pleasure of helping out our good friend Oliver Risi, create a 100 page photo book of the beloved Rad Bar. A place not only known for its extremely loud music and grim bathrooms, but a place were friendships were formed. That’s how I met Oliver, through friends of friends after going to Rad most Sunday afternoons when I wasn’t old enough to go see live music anywhere else.

“The memories made and experiences had at Rad Bar will stay in many people’s mind forever. Nestled into a 1933 building with the capacity of about 80 people, Rad Bar was a one-of-a-kind music venue until its closure in 2019. This book showcases many of my photos from the last week of Rad Bar, before its demolition to make way for a multi-story office block. My love of photography expanded each time I shot a show at this venue, and for that, I owe many thanks to Rad Bar and all those involved.” —Oliver Risi

“With thousands of images sitting on hard drives, I created this book showcasing some of my favourites, to live-on in the hands of others. I hope those that got to experience Rad Bar in person are taken back to those sounds and feelings once they open this book. For those that didn’t get the chance to attend in person, all I can do is hope my photos display just a small sense of what an incredible place this venue was.”

A 100 page photo collection of images captured during the last week at the iconic Rad Bar. This book encapsulates the essence of Rad. It includes Hockey Dad, Dear Seattle, Ruby Fields, Pist Idiots and many more bands that played during the final week before the venue was bulldozed for a multi-story office block in 2019.

This book will take you back to the sounds and feelings of Rad. It will remind you of the times you woke up the next day after a gig with ringing ears. It will remind you of the connection this venue had with the music industry in the Gong and it will remind you of all the good times that were had at Rad Bar.

This one-off book was created as a personal project. It will only go to the printers once. Your purchase goes straight towards the printing of your copy.

If you attended any of the shows during the last week there is a great chance you’ll spot yourself within the pages.
