Just like that, here is the final wanderer gig guide for 2024!
This year has been incredible for live music, full of so many great shows and great bands and artists. There is an awesome community growing that I’m grateful to be a part of.
This December gig guide is hefty as I will be away in Melbourne for the first half of the month, meaning I have high levels of FOMO for all of the great shows happening in Eora/ Sydney, Dharawal/ Wollongong and surrounds.
Thanks to everyone for the support and interest in these throughout the year, feel very lucky to introduce people to new bands or new venues. So keen to do a whole lot more with wanderer in the coming year.

Wanderer Official NYE Recommendations!
it’s the same every year: “I’m not setting any expectations for tonight”. And every year it’s a lie. I’m one of those people who spends 364 days looking forward to New Year’s Eve, and you bet I stay up until midnight.
The few days leading up to the 31st I find myself reflecting on NYEs past. Like one year, we were lining up outside of 88mph (IYKYK), and rushed into taxis to a random house party, because we didn’t wanna be in a club line for the countdown—and then of course taxi-d back to the club straight after. Another year I was alone, pushing through a crowd of people making out after my friend decided to hook up with a guy who had a Dune Rats tattoo. “GET ME OUTTA HERE,” I plead with gusto.
After it all, I’ve decided to embrace high expectations for this year’s NYE. The Wanderer crew will be out in full force at North Gong Hotel, and if you’re not out in a field somewhere making out under the stars (which also doesn’t sound too bad), we’d love to see as many people as possible there—by now we all know that it gets better every year. And for Sydneysiders who have something against the South Coast Train Line, don’t be afraid of a little Vic on the Park action.
